Many of the men who worked in the mines of Arizona died and were buried far away from the homes where they once lived. It is likely that some of their families back home were never even informed of their deaths.
A number of ironwork markers and fences exist in this cemetery, often imported from Eastern foundries. This one commemorates “Martin Lydon / Died April 2, 1911 / Age 34 Years.”
This is an overview of the Hogback seen from a different perspective. Why the cemetery was situated on this type of hill is not known.
